Interview by Writers and Authors | Featuring Author Reggie Gray

Writers and Authors: Reggie, thank you for joining us today. Let’s talk about your latest book, A Win Won Situation. What is the primary benefit that readers will gain from reading it?

Reggie Gray: Thank you for having me. I believe the primary benefit readers will gain from A Win Won Situation is a call to action. This book challenges readers to make meaningful changes in their lives by reflecting on situations, people, and issues that resonate with them. I want readers to recognize the importance of allocating their time and energy to those who truly matter and the issues that impact their lives. Ultimately, it’s about living every day to the fullest and not waiting for some distant moment, like retirement, to start enjoying the quality of life they can have today.

Writers and Authors: If you had to compare your book to any others out there, which would they be?

Reggie Gray: I’d say it’s a combination of Napoleon Hill, Anthony Robbins, and Max Lucado. It’s motivational, blending practical business advice with a foundation in religious values. The book also includes personal anecdotes about forgiveness, living life to the fullest, and appreciating the people around you. It’s a mix of business improvement, personal growth, and spirituality.

Writers and Authors: Every year, countless books are published. What sets A Win Won Situation apart from others in the same genre?

Reggie Gray: This book is honest, brief, and to the point. It draws from real experiences and provides personal examples and anecdotes that readers can relate to. I focus on key interpersonal issues that affect people’s everyday lives, making the advice personal rather than abstract. It’s not just about motivation; it’s about genuine, actionable change.

Writers and Authors: Who is your target audience for this book?

Reggie Gray: The book is for a broad audience, but it’s particularly aimed at people who are success- or self-improvement-driven. For younger readers, I hope to provide information that helps them set appropriate priorities and stay true to their values. For older readers, it’s about ensuring that no more time is wasted and that they’re living in the now while leaving a meaningful legacy for the people they care about.

Writers and Authors: Did your upbringing or environment play a major role in your writing?

Reggie Gray: Yes, it did. In the book, I touch on my upbringing, especially how religion shaped my actions, beliefs, and my mentality of gratefulness and forgiveness. Those elements played a significant role in my approach to life and, by extension, my writing.

Writers and Authors: What has been your most rewarding experience since publishing A Win Won Situation?

Reggie Gray: The most rewarding part has been hearing from people I didn’t know, telling me that the book impacted them. I’ve also reconnected with old friends I hadn’t heard from in about 20 years. Knowing that my words have made a difference in people’s lives is deeply fulfilling.

Writers and Authors: How would you describe your writing style?

Reggie Gray: My style is motivational but concise. I don’t believe in adding unnecessary details or fluff. I like to keep things on target and to the point. Whether it’s meetings, projects, or writing, I aim to be direct and efficient, and that’s reflected in my book.

Writers and Authors: Since your book is non-fiction, are all the characters based on real people?

Reggie Gray: Yes, every character in the book is real. It’s non-fiction, so everything I’ve written is based on real-life experiences and people I know.

Writers and Authors: Are you more focused on plot or character development in your writing?

Reggie Gray: I focus more on plot and content—on the impact of the message rather than the storyline. The goal is to deliver a message that resonates and creates lasting change.

Writers and Authors: Beyond selling the book, what do you hope to accomplish with A Win Won Situation?

Reggie Gray: My goal is to help people reassess their values and priorities. I want this book to be a timeless reference that people can turn to regardless of the time or place. I want my three sons to see that this book is still being read long after I’m gone, leaving a legacy of wisdom and practical advice.

Writers and Authors: How can our readers connect with you?

Reggie Gray: Readers can connect with me through my website at www.houstonicc.org or email me directly at rgray@houstonicc.org. I’m also available on LinkedIn at linkedin.com/in/reggiegray-14223120.

Writers and Authors: Where can readers purchase your book?

Reggie Gray: You can purchase A Win Won Situation on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, and many other locations. Just Google it, and you’ll find it widely available.
