After being moved to a new location the little tree finds herself surrounded by new and different trees that are big, strong and beautiful making her feel even smaller. She wants to be like them and tries to think of how she can look like them or be like them in order to have friends. The wise oak tree gives her advice about being who she really is. As she grows she realizes that she has unique gifts of her own to share and comes to the understanding of her purpose. The book should open discussions with children about finding their special gifts and being who they truly are.
